This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on hawthorn-management.com, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What these technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Similar technologies do the same job by different means, including local storage, which this site uses to remember your cookie choice. Where this policy says "cookies" it means both.

2. The law we work to

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, govern this. Since 5 February 2026 a small number of low risk purposes no longer require consent, including first party analytics used purely to produce aggregate statistics about how a service is used.

That exemption does not cover our analytics. Our analytics is provided by a third party and the data leaves our own service, so we continue to ask for your consent before it runs. Nothing on this site is used for advertising, and advertising is not covered by the exemption in any event.

3. What we actually set

3.1 Strictly necessary, no consent required

PurposeRemembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we do not ask again.

These are exempt from consent because the site cannot be provided securely without the first, and because the second exists only to record the choice you made.

3.2 Analytics, only with your consent

We use a website analytics service to understand which pages are read and how people move through the site. It does not run at all unless you accept. If you decline, no analytics request is made and no analytics identifier is created.

This provider processes data in the United States. Section 5 of our Privacy Policy explains the transfer mechanism we rely on.

3.3 What we do not use

We set no advertising or marketing cookies, no social media pixels, and no cross site tracking of any kind. No third party is permitted to set cookies on this site for its own purposes.

4. Your choice

When you first visit we show a banner with two options of equal prominence: Accept and Decline. Declining is a single click and the site works exactly the same either way.

To change your mind at any time, use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. If you withdraw, analytics stops immediately.

We ask again after 12 months.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third party cookies
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
